BBQ dry rub
Jump to recipe
This is my first attempt at creating a spice rub. I’ve made a few spice blends that I can share, but this one is an integral component of both my BBQ pork ribs and mango bourbon BBQ sauce.
There are a couple unusual ingredients here that you can substitute or discard as it suits your taste.
BBQ dry rub
Servings: Makes about a 1/4 cup of spice blend
Ingredients
1 tbs hot smoked paprika
2 tsp granulated garlic
1 tbs salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
2 tbs brown sugar
1/2 tsp dried mustard
1/2 tsp aji amarillo*
1/2 tsp amchur (mango powder) - optional
*You can substitute any chili powder you prefer, but I like the citrusy heat of this Peruvian dried chili.
Instructions
Mix all ingredients together and use liberally to season meat or as a spice blend for other recipes, such as Mango Bourbon BBQ sauce.
